The small village of Sceautres is in the Ardeche region, in a valley between the volcanic plateaus. The giant rock that towers above the village is very impressive - it is the center of a volcano. The volcano itself crumbled and was eroded ages ago. The whole hill is one big rock, built of beatiful columns of Bazalth in many different directions. The climb to the top, and later - the hike around the rock, under the steep cliffs, was a very pleasing experience.
